Presentation Description:

Creative expression is a powerful tool that helps children build community, resilience, and confidence. For children experiencing grief, using creative expression can help children work through difficult emotions or trauma. In this webinar, participants will practice art skills to help children they serve work through the difficult emotions associated with grief. They will also learn more about how to discuss the creative expression process with young children.

About the Presenter:

Lacie Braun is a LMHC who has worked since 2010 in private practice in Seattle, WA with survivors of complex trauma. Lacie received her MACP at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, and a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies from The Trauma Center in Boston, MA. Knowing that sometimes there are not words for the things we suffer, she incorporates art and movement into her work to offer other ways of healing. Lacie has enjoyed working with Art with Heart for 3 years facilitating therapeutic art programs in elementary schools and developing accompanying curricula. Prior to that Lacie authored a creative expression curriculum for use with human trafficking survivors for First Aid Arts. In her spare time Lacie enjoys watching sunlight play on the waves and listening to all kinds of music.
